Brands I Sold on Poshmark, eBay, & Mercari - Fall 2020

Hello! I’m back to share my latest sold brands and items on Poshmark, eBay, and Mercari from this fall, specifically October and November. After a busy summer, sales slowed down these past two months.

It’s not surprising because I had a hard time replacing all the items that sold in previous months. I also didn’t find as many or as nice items worth reselling at the thrift store. Boo!

Nonetheless, I came away with some interesting finds and sales detailed below.

What I Sold

Eileen Fisher striped shift dress - Sold: $29

I’ve been picking up Eileen Fisher more often lately. I skip the common items like basic tops and go for dresses like this. I didn’t realize that it’s a petite size until I got home. Petite sizes are harder to sell than regular sizes, so I shy away from picking them up. This surprised me with a rather quick sale.

Rag & bone skinny stretch jeans Kensington – Sold: $30

The comparibles for these jeans were all over the place. I probably could’ve held out for a sale at the higher end of the sold price range, but I wanted a quick sale, so I accepted an offer.

Victoria’s Secret corset bra top - Sold: $25

Victoria’s Secret is another brand I’ve picked up more often in recent months. I try to pick VS items that are new with tag or popular styles in excellent condition. VS items can sit unsold for a long time, and some have a low resale value. This top sold for full price within a few minutes of being listed. It’s also a common size (34B), which made it easier to sell.

NWT Steindl Trachten German Oktoberfest dress – Sold: $50

I didn’t realize this dress was missing parts when I bought it. I recognized it was missing a belt when I looked up pictures of it online. Then a buyer asked me if it was missing the blouse and apron. Yep, it was. I was afraid I was going to have to discount it heavily because it of that. Thankfully, it still sold for a nice profit.

NWT Savage x Fenty Lavender Lace Teddy – Sold: $35

Savage x Fenty is a lingerie line by Rhianna. I’ve found items by this brand new with tag twice. Both times the items got a lot of interest and sold in a reasonable amount of time.

NWT Agent Provocateur underwear - Sold: $35

Agent Provocateur is a high-end British lingerie company, which is why many people turn to buying it at resale. This got lots of likes and sold within a few weeks of listing it.

NWT Damsel in the Dress steam wench corset – Sold: $50

I always look at the Halloween costume rack at the thrift store, even when I’m not shopping for a costume. I never know what unique items I’ll find like this beautiful corset.

Spanx camo leggings – Sold: $37

Spanx is another brand that I started picking up recently. The leggings can sell well second-hand depending on the style, condition, and size.

NWT City Chic Sweet Swallow top – Sold: $35

I almost passed up this top because it’s size XS. I decided to buy it because of the cute birds on the shoulders and the belted waist style. It sold for full price the night that I listed it.

Girlfriend Collective Paloma sports bra – Sold: $25

This sports bra retails for $38, so I was surprised that this sold for $25 with some wear to it.

Deux Par Deux red riding hood sweater – Sold: $20

Deux Par Deux makes high-quality amusing and playful children’s clothes. This was the cutest children’s sweater I had seen in a long time.

NWT Vince Camuto Bev dress – Sold: $32

I normally don’t buy Vince Camuto to resell. This dress was new with tag and probably accidentally underpriced at the thrift store.

NWT Lucy Get Going capri – Sold: $27

I normally don’t by Lucy either. I know that these pants are a popular style though and new with tag, so I took a chance on them.

Madewell et Sezane Elly silk dress – Sold: $25

This was a lesson to me that you never know what will sell. I’ve stopped sourcing almost all Madewell items because they don’t sell well for me anymore. I picked up this dress because it was in collaboration with Sezane, which is an in-demand high-end designer. This dress is a few years old and a size XXS, both knocks against it. I was sort of regretting buying it. Then it sold within a week or two if listing it.

Reformation Ada top – Sold: $29

Reformation is a staple be-on-the-lookout BOLO brand.

Some thoughts and notes

  • One of the most disappointing things about my nearby thrift stores is how they tag their items. One day I went through the leggings rank, and there were several leggings in perfect condition by brands like Beyond Yoga and Outdoor Voices. But they all had holes in the legs from the price tags. I cried a little on the inside at how they damaged the items. That’s pretty common at the stores I go to :(

  • In May of this year, I purchased a wholesale lot from Via Trading. It consisted of mostly cold weather items like sweaters from brands found at Macy’s. Those items have been slooooow moving.

I’m starting to sell more of them now, maybe because the cold season is finally here. Those items and several others accounted for several smaller sales below $25. I’ll post an update of how the lot sold soon.

  • December tends to be a good time to thrift shop. Many people clean out their houses and donate to charities at the end of the year. I have my fingers crossed and a good feeling that I’ll come across some great finds.

How were your sales this fall? Did you have any unique or interesting finds?
